“Heroes” Recap: A Clear and Present Danger

Were you like me, actually excited for new episodes of Heroes, only to see this promo and summarily blind yourself lest you have to see anything ever again?

I manged to resist the urge to go all Oedipus upon myself and actually give the season a fighting chance. The verdict? A solid “meh,” with room to grow to “eh.” By the time Bryan Fuller gets back, let’s hope we haven’t devolved to “bleh.”

I’m still gonna need some convincing, myself. I’ll give it two or three more episodes. If it weren’t for the Heroes having to work together, I’d already be gone. If they do, indeed, form some sort of Junior Justice League, that would be great. I feel that there needs to be at least 3 or 4 characters working together for it to work. If they get scattered again, I’m outta here. And, as far as I’m concerned, Hiro can go away and never come back. He’s been a stupid and useless character since day one.

You are right, too, about Claire’s roll. All she can do is not die. I’ve been wondering how the hell the writers are going to turn that into a useful super power.

With top tier shows like 24, Lost, and BSG on right now, Heroes really needs to bring it’s A-game each and every week. Can you imagine comparing Heroes to the force that is Battlestar Galactica? It doesn’t even deserve to be mentioned in the same paragraph. Or, potentially, on the same air waves.

    Later, dude.
