The Dude’s tired. Winter always gets to me, that New England phenomenon of “41 and grey” that lands atop Boston sometime just before Thanksgiving and stays through the start of baseball season. Just saps the energy, breaks the will, and sends the Dude towards Jack Daniels.
But The Dude has a better reason for his exhaustion […]

With the Fall finale of Chuck, the show essentially rebooted itself back to square one. I’m not quite sure how I feel about that.
We ended last night with Chuck and Sarah merely friends, and John Casey patiently (if hesitantly) awaiting orders to kill Chuck once Intercect 2.0 reaches fruition. But we were here at the […]

The Boob Tube Dude is exhausted. Like, Hurley after participating in the Ironman Triathlon tired. Like, Peter Petrelli after trying to grasp BC calculus tired.
So, another day without a Chuck Wee-View or a Heroes recap. I know, I know, all six of you are crushed.
I’d give Chuck a 6.5/10 and Heroes a 5.5/10, with “Generations” […]

NBC kept telling us this would be an “iconic” episode of Chuck this week, and while it was good, I wouldn’t be so brash as to call it “iconic”. Nothing about the episode matched the shock of Bryce’s cryogenic slumber from last week’s edition, and really, mythologically speaking, very little shocked or surprised.
That’s not to […]

Monday’s a pretty busy day here at BTD, and as per usual, there’s lots to read. Take your pick! It’s like “Choose Your Own Adventure,” only in this case, all the adventures are wicked awesome.
Go here for a summary of the latest edition of the latest Lost mobisode, the epically titled “The Adventures of Hurley […]

I’m annoyed I didn’t see that coming until about 30 seconds ahead of time.
Then again, I’m pathologically pathetic at guessing stuff like this. I am proud I at least figured out that there was a human being inside the casing, but only when did it seem like Chuck and Sarah had no more obstacles did […]
November 12, 2007 – 9:30 pm
OK, now things are getting interesting.
After spending the initial episodes setting up the premise and introducing the characters, last week’s episode finally set about establishing more of the mythos behind Chuck: namely, the long-held interest by the CIA in Chuck’s mind, his subsequent help by Bryce to escape that fate, and Chuck as the only […]
November 5, 2007 – 9:25 pm
This week’s episode featured a semi-satisfactory answer to one of the show’s biggest mysteries, “Why was Chuck betrayed by Bryce?” Problem is, the answer came with a plothole so large the entire cast of The Biggest Loser could have driven through it side-by-side on Vespas.
Turns out Chuck was recruited, unbeknownst to him, by his old […]
Making a List, Checking it Twice
It’s December, which means two things. One, a lot of your favorite shows are heading into rerun land. (Course, unlike past years, they might actually stay that way for quite some time.) And secondly, “Best Of” lists will start proliferating magazines, newspapers, and yes, websites. So I thought I’d get ahead of the game and […]
